Venetian plaster is a general term used by artisans, architects and other individuals in the industry. It refers to the putty which is made from fired limestone and water. Once mixed it becomes lime plaster or “venetian plaster”. Once it is applied to the surface and exposed to the carbon dioxide in the air, the mixture returns to limestone. Essentially it starts limestone and finishes as limestone.
